Yin Yang & Five Elements

The fundamental principles underlying all of Traditional Chinese Medicine - understanding the patterns that govern health and disease.

The Balance of Opposites

☀️ Yang

Nature:Active, bright, warm
Direction:Upward, outward
Time:Daytime, summer
Body:Function, energy
Organs:Six Fu organs
Condition:Excess symptoms

🌙 Yin

Nature:Passive, dark, cool
Direction:Downward, inward
Time:Nighttime, winter
Body:Structure, substance
Organs:Six Zang organs
Condition:Deficiency symptoms

Key Principle: Health is not the absence of either Yin or Yang, but the dynamic balance between them. When Yin and Yang separate, life ends.
